Whether the situation be a complete SHFT/bugout scenario or just a disaster like a flood or hurricane, having created a home group is a great idea and way to stay connected and survive. But just what is a home group? Your HG is a group of your neighbors, family and friends that come together to create a small tribe in order to ensure survival.

If you do not know your neighbors, you should start now. Beyond who is friendly and who is not, you’ll want to identify which neighbors have which skills and access to what resources. If you yourself are or live near a nurse or a CNA with medical training, their skill-set will be valuable when municipal medical services are not available. When you begin sharing your resources before a disaster situation, you establish a working relationship/friendship and reduce the chance of  “disaster fatigue”, which can result in hostility when the time comes.
