This is episode one of the Ecolante Podcast. Today I discuss the SOPA legislation and what I call, Internet 3.0, the future of information distribution.

And yet another… reason why old school technology may be the way to go. Here’s the deal, when blocks are put in place, people will try to get around them, and they will. The politicians who are making these bills don’t use the internet like the rest of the world. I think corporations need to accept the technology of the internet and give it up. The narrator makes a great point in that LastFM, Pandora and other online services are providing a great service. The need to collect music from services like Napster (remember those days) is far lower than ever with free streaming music available. Provide a better service and the desire to steal drops. Netflix, Hulu… follow their models.

Senate OKs Indefinite Detention of American Citizens… really? Seriously? Well there you have it, the 4th amendment no longer applies, according to the senate. Again… I say to you all. Watch or read 1984 and Fahrenheit 451, now available in “old-school sci-fi” and “your reality” flavors!
But don’t despair, you can still remember the good old days.

Now I am no expert, but I know enough to know that when the government starts a project out in the open it’s cover for something else. And even more so I bet the real project is not in the same location as this project. And this comes  a day after the government begins laying out the ground work for their new definition of a terrorist. Seriously people, have you not seen 1984 or Fahrenheit 451?
