Lifehacker is now offering what it calls Lifehacker University. And while it seems to be nothing more than their collection of already available free online courses (Open University), it’s still an offering that is free nonetheless. You will probably have to sign up at each school that offers something, but that is a small price to pay for free education.

In the grand scheme of prepping, one must consider their security. Your homes inhabitants and contents are to be major potential targets in a disaster or WROL situation. We’ll focus on suburban security, since most of our readers are suburban dwellers. Before we discuss what the best firearms for your situation will be, first you must understand that your are responsible to know, understand and obey your local laws regarding firearms and weapons in general. Assuming that you know and are in compliance with your local laws, before you obtain any firearm, you should have a place where you can actively shoot your weapon. Shooting a gun is perishable skill.
